I just wanted to share “Great Are You Lord” by All Sons and Daughters again today. I shared this song with you about three weeks ago, after I’d heard it for the first time at the Declare Conference in Dallas, Texas. The praise and worship was so amazing that day. The presence of Our Father was undeniable.
While in South Africa on safari, my husband and I were walking back to our room after dinner and the night sky was pitch black. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d seen the sky so dark and then it hit me; this was the true reflection of the sky. I was use to looking at the sky through the glow of artificial light.
As we looked up, we could see the bright brilliant starts hanging over our heads. They were so big and so bright it was like we could just reach up and touch them. I said to my husband “where did they come from” and we both just started laughing. It was a beautiful moment. It had been so long since I’d seen an unobstructed view of the stars, I didn’t even recognize them. I was overwhelmed by their beauty; their light. It is that way with God.
God is Beauty and God is Light. He did not create beauty or light; He is Beautiful and He is Light. In life, we tend to surround ourselves with artificial light. It’s everywhere! We are distracted by the artificial glow of temporal things that obstruct our view of the brilliance of the True Light. Some times it’s material things, some times it life issues, and some times it’s even people. Because we are so surrounded by these artificial things we do not recognize True Beauty and Light. But we must learn to look pass the distraction of the artificial glow of things that are temporal and look to the True Light of all things eternal.
Look up tonight! Great Are You Lord.
