Feeling Overwhelmed: Your Perception of Your Capacity.
Thursday, I posted an article titled “Beware of Distractions”. In it I talked about how distractions come to “steal, kill and destroy”. Today, Saturday at 3:00 AM, I want to share a message with you on progress, capacity and feeling overwhelmed. The reason why I mentioned the date and time is that I normally post Monday-Friday around 8:00 or 9:00 am; notice the time…it’s Saturday morning at 3:00 AM and I’m just getting to my Friday post…distractions.
Distractions have been popping up everywhere; demanding capacity. Distractions in the form of commitments that I’ve made to others for my time (planning a church event for our Media team), problems trying to get our next film shoot off the ground (which is just 7 days away and I’m way behind schedule), overwhelmed trying to find a house to purchase (my lease is up in 1 month), trying to get a new intern I just hired up to speed (she is sweet as can be but green and needs a lot of direction), and getting my taxes finished before the extension expires (my husband is on me about it); just to name a few.
All of these things are coming at me at once…trying to “steal” (my time away from God), trying “kill” (by any means necessary) and trying to destroy (my trust and faith in God and my confidence in myself).
Confront Your Giant.
As I was rushing from one appointment to the next this morning and about to yell out a loud scream…”I CAN’T TAKE IT”, God told me to open up Instagram and at the top of my feed was a post from Pastor Roberts. Talk about timely!!! I’m sure the folks sitting at the table next to me didn’t want to hear me “pop” while having their morning coffee because I was going to let it rip with absolutely “no shame”…LOL.
Just 59 seconds and it’s a great message. Here you go!
