Are you following your plan or His plan? That’s the question I’m challenging you to ask yourself today.
Proverbs 19:21 (KJV) says, “There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.” Translated it means, many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
It’s amazing how much time we’ve wasted working against the plans of God. We say we need Him but we spend very little time, if any, sitting with Him and listening to Him. We say we love Him but yet we struggle to forgive. We say we trust Him but then we’re off doing our own thing. Let trouble show up and we’re calling on the name of Jesus. Yep, we’ve all done it! We’ve all been there.
I’m learning, as I get older to ask God about His plans first. It seems to always turn out better that way for me. The one thing I know to be true is that the Lord’s purpose and plans will always prevail. Try it this holiday season.
Instead of doing things your way just ask the Holy Spirit to give you direction and focus for the day. He won’t disappoint you, I promise.
