Are you focused on the thing that God has called you to do in this season?
Last month, several great opportunities started to manifest themselves out of nowhere and I became overwhelmed. It’s so amazing how that happens. I was holding on for one thing and when it finally hit; several other amazing opportunities started to appear. I immediately called out to the Lord and He heard my cry.
I asked God to help me stay focused on the journey “He” had for me. I knew all of these other incredible opportunities would begin to dilute my resources, take me in several different directions and I would ultimately accomplish nothing.
What’s interesting is that all of them were connected in some way. They were connected just enough that I would believe I needed to try to pursue them all. When I cried out to the Lord, I did so because I knew they were distractions but I wasn’t sure which one He wanted me to pursue?
In the “very same hour” after I prayed for direction and guidance He brought this message title Focus by Dr. Juanita Bynum to me. Isn’t that AMAZING! But that’s how our Father works.
Ask, Seek, Knock
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Ask, seek, knock if one of my favorite scriptures. I walk around my house regularly knocking on everything; letting the Father know it’s me…just incase He needs a reminder…LOL!
Lieutenant “distraction” is a solider in the army of the enemy. His job is to prevent you from giving your full attention to the very thing that God has called you to do. He is a diversion, interruption, disturbance, interference, and a hindrance. He causes extreme agitation in your mind and with your emotions. Distraction’s assignment is to keep you from the thing that is real. Did you get that?
You must remember this and learn how to identify him when he shows up. Distraction will not show up with a loud horn and announce himself. No, we will be subtle. He will be so delicate and precise that it is extremely difficult to identify, analyze or describe him. Make no mistake about it, he is your enemy! He is here to stop you from doing Kingdom business.
I believe this message by Dr. Bynum will help you began to “zero in” on how to stay focused on your heavenly assignment. Always consult with the Holy Spirit for direction. He is your General and most trusted Advisor. He is there to bring the Heavenly Army of the Lord down on the enemy for you. He is there to storm the beach and make a way for you to fulfill God’s purpose and calling.
May Your Steps Fulfill Their Purpose and You Stay Focused!
