I’m one of the biggest “the Matrix” (the movie) fans out there. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve seen it. Every time it comes on, I stop whatever I’m doing. I sit down and watch it like it’s my very first time. In reality I’ve probably watched it at least 15 times (no kidding).
“The Matrix” (the movie).
“The Matrix” is a science fiction action film starring Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne. It depicts a dystopian future in which reality as perceived by most humans is actually a simulated reality called “the Matrix”. It was created by sentient machines to subdue the human population, while their bodies’ heat and electrical activity are used as an energy source. Computer programmer “Neo” (played by Keanu Reeves) learns the truth and is drawn into a rebellion against the machines. Morpheus (played by Laurence Fishburne) is one of the leaders and offers Neo a choice, to learn the truth or Neo can return to his old life “inside” the Matrix.
The real reason I’m so drawn to this movie is that it contains numerous references to philosophical and religious ideas. One in particular is the power of the mind. Neo becomes part of a group of rebels that understands the true nature of the simulated reality and the power of their minds, which allows them to bend its physical laws, granting them superhuman abilities. Don’t you just love the parallels.
The Mind Matrix.
As Pastor Munsey was sharing his message on “The Mind Matrix”, I couldn’t help but think about the movie because like in “the Matrix” the battle takes place in the mind. Pastor Munsey was Morpheus on Sunday and he was freeing rebels (Christians) to hack the code (the Bible) and “unplug” enslaved rebels.
Whether you’ve watched “the Matrix” or not this message will free your mind. It’s amazing, relatable, visual, inspiring, empowering and life changing.
Pastor Munsey dropped this blessing on us one Sunday morning. I was so moved by the word, I stayed for all three services, I arrived at church at 8:30 am and didn’t leave until 3:00 pm. This message is life changing and I wanted it deeply rooted in my spirit. That Monday morning I got up and watch it again.
I know it will free you!
