I’ve shared the song titled Overflow by Juanita Bynum with you before but I just had to share it with you again today.
I love the words because she’s singing about being in the “overflow” of God’s Spirit. I don’t know about you but I absolutely want to be in His overflow. To overflow in God’s Spirit means that there is so much excess of His Spirit that the available space cannot contain or accommodated it; its spilling over on everything and everybody.
To be in the overflow of His Spirit means there’s an extra, crammed-full, jam-packed, bulging at the seams anointing of God; just waiting to bless someone and I want that someone to be me.
I love my quite, private time with God; early in the morning hour. I like to get up before my husband, before the birds awake, before there are any cars on the streets or noises in the neighborhood. Early mornings are a sacrifice but I don’t mind because while everyone else is still asleep; I’m up giving the first fruits of my heart, my thoughts, my morning, and my day to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So when that early morning overflow occurs, I’m right there to get it ALL.
Have you ever seen a river overflow after a big rainfall? The river is full and the banks cannot contain all of the water; so the water begins to pour over the banks and everything in its path is soaked. That’s how I want to be; soaked in the Spirit of the Lord. I want to be saturated in the Spirit of His Love, Kindness, Forgiveness, Peace and Joy.
I want the Spirit of the Lord to fall on me and wash away any residue that would try to destroy or contaminate my love for Him. That’s how I want to start my day. It’s why I get up early in the morning hour to spend time with Him. I can’t imagine trying to make it any other way. Can you?
May Your Steps Fulfill Their Purpose and You Walk In His Overflow.
