Its Friday and my mood today is completely old school gospel with the The Storm Is Passing Over.  This song is a throw back to my days in the New Testament Baptist Church choir when I was just 16 years old.  My how things have changed.

But I’m so glad that there’s one thing that will never change and that’s the love of God for me and for His children.  I’m so grateful that God’s heart isn’t changed by the latest and greatest song or by anything else that’s happening in this world. No, His love for us is the same yesterday, today and forever more.

This song brings back so many memories and a lot of them are not pleasant.  At that time, I was trying to live through the aftermath of my parent’s divorce which broke me to the core.  I couldn’t imagine growing up without my father. But in the midst of the storm I found a new Father; one that would never leave me nor forsake me.  I really didn’t understand what I’d done by giving my life to Christ but He knew my broken heart was searching for love and acceptance something that I would eventually come to understand can only come through Him.

It’s amazing to look back now.  Those memories don’t hold me hostage like they use to.  I can smile today because I know I’m free and I’m saved.  I know there’s a place for me in Heaven and I will spend eternity with Our Father. Yes, the storm does pass over but in the midst of it you don’t have to be alone.  God is there.  He will guide you if you are willing to surrender and turn it all over to Him.

I hope you enjoy the song.
